Nitrox most certainly is the wave of the future, and with its acceptance by the worlds largest recreational dive association, PADI, its continued growth is assured. The main benefit derived from a Nitrox certification is double the available bottom time on most dives compared to that of a normal air dive. So your previous twenty minute dive to 100ft. now jumps to forty minutes, and for the diver who doesn't get to dive but once or twice a year the benefit is more than worthwhile. A noticeable lack of fatigue and headaches are also benefits many divers claim to experience due to the lack of excess nitrogen absorption.

Nitrox certifications are available through Deep Ecology on Oahu only.
