Kauai's Best Boat Dives

Kauai's underwater adventure that's just a little different than the usual dive charter. The 35 foot Kaimanu is Coast Guard certified to carry 18 passengers but taking smaller groups to the most interesting and unique scuba diving locations around Kauai, Niihau and Lehua Rock is the priority. For this reason, there is a limit to the number of divers between 6 and 8 with divemasters who are very knowledgeable in marine life. But this is more than a suck, suck, kick, kick, charter. Kauai boat divers spend time discussing what is rare and endemic in Hawaiian waters. These marine biology/ecology tours are critter intensive. We also spend time explaining relationships that are found underwater, and then view them. Like the blind shrimp that dwells with the goby, there are numerous symbiotic relationships occuring here in Hawaii. Experianced divers only, and advanced booking highly recommended. Trips are scheduled up to twice daily and once nightly. Location of departure depends upon which side of the island has the best water conditions and/or the best proximity to particular dive sights. Port Allen Small Boat Harbor on the south shore is the most common year round departure point.

Morning Dive is a 4 1/2 hour trip meeting at 7:30am and returning back to the harbor around 12:00pm. The Afternoon Dive is also a 4 1/2 hour trip meeting at 12:30pm and returning at about 5:00pm. Both trips are essentially the same although dive sites for each trip may differ depending on conditions. Morning and afternoon charters are 2 tanks at 2 different locations. Both are guided Eco-tours catering to marine ecology enthusiasts. Night dives depart at 4;30pm and are two tanks. Your guide will try to satisfy dive site requests as well as critter requests. Dive computers are included, along with snacks and drinks. Limited space, advanced booking recommended. Charters run (M, T, Th, F, Sun)
