Sitting in on an International Solidarity Movement (ISM) meeting.

I stated this over and over in Palestine and I meant it, I have great respect for ISM and the strategy of bearing witness and human shielding. In fact it was ISM activists who ran into Yasser Arafat's compound and the Church of the Nativity during one of Israel's worst incursions just over two years ago that helped inspire my Human Shield Action to Iraq.

But I was not officially with ISM nor an official member because I would than have a set of rules that could limit my options in Palestine. Specifically things like my spontaneous act of spray painting on the Israeli Apartheid Wall or willingness to speak to Palestinian Militants or other such things. I am a free spirit through and through and the only organization that I have become active in other than my own in the last ten years is the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society; and you will understand why if you follow the following Sea Shepherd link (Note - I was the Regional Director for Sea Shepherds in Hawaii while living there). Sea Shepherds break all rules except using violence and have results as their top priority and as such I felt totally free when I was a member and director. ISM for now does not offer that to me but I will work with them in the future; for sure.
