Checkpoint Nablus.

And so we reach our destination of Nablus; but would we get past the IDF checkpoint? No.

We were soon forced to take a treacherous mountain road (next frame) because the IDF soldiers at this checkpoint refused us entry on the basis that it was "too dangerous." Too dangerous for everybody but Palestinians I guess. I argued that Israel prided itself on "liberty" and "freedom" and "democracy" (where have I heard that shite before?) and that now I was fully informed of the risks and wished to enter Nablus with full knowledge of the risks. That did not work and the IDF soldiers said that Israel's government gets "problems" from the European Union (EU) when its citizens get in trouble in "Israel" (meaning Palestine); so therefore we could not get in. I appealed once again to the virtues of freedom but got nowhere.
