Checkpoint, Der Balut.

Sjur is still laughing from my first picture (last frame) and here I am taking another one. The IDF soldier on the left and right also laugh while the one in the middle is now taking the "what the hell is this crazy fucker doing" role. Classic!

Rule Number 1 - Never lose your sense of humour.

At the end of the day I see these guys as either willing or unwilling victims of their own corrupt governments. Just like me they have been incessantly lied to and indoctrinated. So they buy into total rubbish propaganda (just like me) and do their vital role, but this does not cause me to hate them; pity and concern are far more accurate words to describe my feelings for them. In each interaction I had with them and the American soldiers I wished them peace for themselves and all that they encounter in their job.

I can honestly say that I saw my genuine concern for them have a measurable positive affect, it may be slight, but measurable; and I would like to think that some of them will change for the better in small ways and give the same concern to the "enemies" they handle in their duty.
