We met Ali at the Wall demonstration in Qalqiliya; ultimately he invited us to his home for some food and tea. Along the way he showed us the family home of a Palestinian martyr who single handedly shot and killed 6 Israeli soldiers in the West Bank. To the IDF he was a cold blooded killer; to the Palestinians he was a heroic resister.

The IDF came after him with a vengeance and blew his head off than told his family to leave their home as it was to be demolished. They did so with the martyrs body inside the house; the explosion was heard for miles around and causing extensive damage to neighboring homes. Ali was one of the people who dug out his mangled and dismembered body from the rubble that was a home behind him.
